Laurie Tema-Lyn

Laurie has been a creative catalyst and qualitative market research consultant for more than 25 years. Her professional background includes being co-founder and Director of Consulting for IdeaScope Associates, was Associate at Synectics and VP/ Accounts Supervisor at Rapp & Collins, direct marketing agency.

Laurie inspires and guides client teams to create new business strategies, fill their pipeline with product and positioning concepts, and uncover robust insights about existing and potential consumers/customers. She relishes taking on the tough assignments where new approaches and methodologies are created to deliver success: breakthroughs in thinking, insights and ideas. Drawing inspiration from the diversity of projects and clients she gets to work and play with — Laurie has consulted in areas as wide ranging as advertising to zoos, with recent programs in online retail, foods and beverages, pharma, automotive, financial services and social policy. She interweaves her passions and expertise in theater, music, creative cooking, teaching and storytelling into her work.

Laurie is a 25+ year member of the QRCA (Qualitative Research Consultants Association.) She is currently a member of the leadership team of the Philadelphia Chapter and has been facilitating frequent video events to keep learning, networking and ideas flowing despite COVID preventing in-person gatherings. Laurie is a former member of the Board of Directors of QRCA and former Editor-in-Chief of VIEWS. She founded the Emeritus SIG. Laurie is a sought-after presenter at national and international conferences. Passionate about the arts, Laurie is a past Board Member of the VOICES Chorale and was President of the Savoyard Light Opera Company.

Bruce has a long and varied career in art and design in advertising agencies and in corporate. He was Executive VP, General Manage OgilvyAction, CT office, was one of the founding partners and EVP-Chief Creative Officer of BEN Marketing Group where he built and led a creative team that consistently produced award winning marketing solutions for some of the best known and most demanding clients in the world including Coca-Cola, Holiday Inn, IBM, DuPont, and HBO. Bruce is also a full Professor of Pratt Institute in the Communications Design Department. Bruce is President, Creative Director at Duhan Creative.

Debra Fox has 25 years experience in marketing research field management with an expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research. Prior to starting Fox Field Research, Debra was the Managing Director of Field and Operations for KRC Research for 6 years. Debra has extensive facility management experience as co-founder of Group Dynamics/Cherry Hill, New Jersey and Vice President in charge of field management for Shugoll Research in Bethesda, MD.

Debra began her research career as an interviewer and focus group recruiter. The depth of this experience has given her a keen understanding of the needs of the respondents, the field facilities and her clients.

She became a qualitative researcher after beginning her career in advertising and then learning that people will actually pay you to conduct research for a living. She has experience in dozens of categories for brands ranging from global financial institutions to local not-for-profits. Her work has been presented in board rooms, at conferences and even at the White House. Abby has a particular passion for the ways that technology can be used as a tool in the qualitative research process to gain deeper insights. Her first focus group was conducted online back in 1999, and today she is on the forefront of integrating technologies such as mobile tools to capture ‘in the moment’ data from consumers around the world. Maria is an award-winning filmmaker, whose works have appeared at many festivals including Sundance where she was nominated for the Relentless Drive Award, and the Brooklyn International Film Festival where she won the Audience Choice Award. Most recently she has co-produced the independent feature film, “Thrasher Road,” and currently she is co-directing a documentary, “STRIPER no art without life.” She applies all her skills as a filmmaker to the videos she shoots and edits for PIE.

Patricia Sunderland, Ph.D

Patricia (Patti) Sunderland is a specialist in the anthropological, ethnographic and cultural analysis of consumer worlds. Founder and president of Cultural Research & Analysis, Inc., she is also first author of Doing Anthropology in Consumer Research and co-editor of the 2014 Handbook of Anthropology in Business. Patti is a fan of visual anthropology, semiotics, languages, and the insight that can be gained through an international lens.

Patti’s analyses have provided the strategic insight for the successful makeover of brands and retail environments as well as contributed to the launch of new advertising, products, and brand strategies for many clients including Air France, Citibank, Darden Restaurants, DraftFCB New Zealand, JC Penney, Nissan, Pernod Ricard, PepsiCo, SC Johnson, Unilever, and Whirlpool. Patti has a Ph.D. in Cultural and Social Psychology (University of Vermont) and an M.Phil. degree in Anthropology from New York University.

She is currently based out of New York City as well as Addis Ababa.

Anya Zadrozny

Anya is the founder of AZ Research & Media, a qualitative market research and video production company. She has over a decade of experience conducting interviews and recording, editing and producing audio and video pieces, many years as a producer for MTV Radio Networks, and more recently for qualitative market research firms in a variety of fields.

Anya specializes in conducting in-depth interviews (in-person, telephone, video), mobile and online discussion and bulletin boards, usability testing and user research, B2B research, shop-a-longs, focus groups and more for a variety of segments in a variety of categories.

Industry experience includes financial services, pharmaceutical, skin care, telecommunications, retail, food and beverage and more.

Prior to launching her business Anya worked as producer and on-air host for MTV and Vh1 Radio during which time she recorded, conducted, produced and reported on over 1,300 interviews with celebrities, musicians and cultural innovators at MTV's headquarters in Times Square, as well as at the Academy Awards, the Grammy Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards.

Anya is currently a member of the Board of Directors of QRCA. She was a 2014 QRCA Young Professional Grant Winner and received the QRCA Rising Star award in 2017.
